Women’s Golf Drills: Week 2 – Developing Consistency
Last week, we built your golf foundation with short game practice and a solid pre-shot routine. This week, it’s all about consistency. Golf isn’t about hitting one great shot—it’s about repeating it under pressure. Week 2 focuses on accuracy, refining your short game, and making your swing more reliable so you feel confident when it counts.
Week 2: Building Consistency in Your Swing and Short Game
Goal for the Week: Improve accuracy, refine your putting and chipping, and reinforce your pre-shot routine under realistic conditions.
Day 1: 9-Hole Challenge
- Set a target for each hole: fairway off the tee, green in regulation, or two-putt on the green.
- Track success based on whether you hit your goal, not your total score.
- If you miss a target, reflect on whether it was your focus, club choice, or routine.
Reflection: What went well? Which targets were most difficult?
Day 2: Range & Putting Routine
- 9-Hole Putting Challenge: Set up 9 holes on the practice green and try to finish in fewer than 20 putts. Focus on routine and distance control.
-
L-to-L Drill: Practice half swings where your arms and club form “L” positions on backswing and follow-through. Smooth tempo and solid contact matter more than power.
Reflection: Did your putting routine keep you focused? How did the L-to-L drill feel?
Day 3: Range Work & Chipping
- Iron Target Practice: Use pitching through 8-iron to aim at three targets (short, medium, long). Apply the L-to-L drill for consistency.
-
Chipping Drill: Practice chips from 10, 20, and 30 yards, aiming for a 3–5 foot circle. Try different clubs to learn their flight patterns.
Reflection: Did you feel balanced during swings? How well did you control chip distances?
